**KICKSTARTER PROJECT FUNDED** Selected photographs from Avantgarb{age}, The Art in Wearing Trash were exhibited the month of April at ICANA in Belgrano, Buenos Aires, Argentina thanks to generous support from my backers at Kickstarter. It was a successful exhibit and I look forward to diving into Kickstarter again in the future.

In teaming up with Argentine artist Aidana Baldassarre, I chose to use urban backgrounds and stark lighting in the photography and creative post processing to accentuate the edginess of Baldassarre’s designs. The choice of models was also thought out. Each piece is worn my men and women without modeling experience. We like to call them non-models. The purpose of this was two-fold: to promote healthy body types and reinforce that recycling and this art is for everyone.

The departure from my documentary style offered me space to reconnect with my creativity and think outside the bounds of photojournalism. The common thread in all my work is a desire to express – through photography – humanity and how we interact with each other and our world.
